An invitation to members of the Spanish Society of Arteriosclerosis to join the European Atherosclerosis Society
It is with great pleasure that I can announce the launch of the EAS Membership Drive. Starting today, the EAS is offering complementary membership - both for new members and membership renewals - until the end of 2009.
2009 has seen a number of changes for the EAS - a new President, new Executive Committee members, a revised Constitution, administrative office relocation and a new Administrative Executive - to name but a few. The fundamental aims of the Society, however - "advancing and exchanging knowledge concerning the causes, natural history, treatment and prevention of atherosclerotic disease..." remain the same, and our commitment to them, and to you, our partner societies throughout Europe, is stronger than ever.
We want to use the remainder of this year to consolidate the membership of the Society, and build up our membership base in advance of the 78th EAS Congress 2010, which will take place in Hamburg, June 20-23, 2010.
To be certain that we are reaching our members with the information we send out - by post, by email, and via our website - and to encourage members to take a more active role in the growth and development of the society, we are restructuring our members' database. We invite all current and former EAS members to update their contact details via our website - www.eas-society.org - and in exchange receive complementary EAS membership for the rest of 2009.
The offer also extends to new-member applications; for both new members and membership renewals there's no membership fee to pay for the rest of 2009.
